Indulging in Spring Fever with Lovely Wishes
Earlier this month, I held my monthly card club in my home. We generally make 2-4 cards, depending on the complexity of the card. And I clearly had spring fever when I was preparing this Lovely Card.
I used the Lovely Wishes stamp set from the 2018 Occasions Catalog (link to the right if you are on a laptop, at the bottom if you are using a phone or tablet), and cased this card from Pinterest, with gratitude to Sally at Sally’s Sentiments.
So Much Texture
I love all the texture on this card…from the dry embossed base, custom designer paper, and the tulip colored with Rose Red ink using a blender pen. If you’d like to replicate this (CASE it), the Lovely Wishes stamp set comes with outline stamps and stamps that will fill in the outlines. I used one of the latter for the leaf. But I wanted the flower to show a bit more variation in color, and the fill-in stamp wasn’t designed that way. Bring on the blender pen!!
I even used my bone folder to slightly curve the sentiment (stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Rose Red card stock). And the shimmery ribbon in Pear Pizzazz finished it off perfectly!
Wait…What is CASING?
CASE stand for Copy and Share Everything. Sometimes that means directly copying a card and making it for yourself, while other times you might take inspiration from the colors or layout. Today’s Lovely Card falls somewhere in-between. I switched up the color scheme, and kept the layout and stamp set from the inspiration card.
CASING is both normal and expected…but you should always give credit where credit is due. So thank you again, Sally Hessenius!
Are you ready for Spring, too?
Thanks for stopping by!
